2 month stats

So, we found out how busy the clinic is that Joni goes to for her pediatrician. They say they are booked 2 months out, so luckily when I called on her two month date (oops!) to get an appointment for those shots, they were able to find a slot just a week late-however with a different doctor than hers.
We are very pleased that she is growing! She now weighs 9 lbs. 10 oz. and she is 22 1/2 inches long! She was a real trooper when it came to the shots. She only cried for a short minute. Monte was a little concerned when he saw that she had to get shots. She loves to sit in the bouncy seat and look at the toys in front of her. There is a button on one of the toys that plays music and lights flash, so Monte stays pretty busy keeping that button pushed!
The other night, I laid her down in her bed because she was asleep and after a minute Justin could hear her sucking and he looked over and found her sucking her thumb. Yes, I am a mean mom, I took this picture while she was sleeping in the pitch dark (hence the red eyes) and the flash startled her awake, darnit! Then she quit sucking her thumb when she woke up. SO adorable!

She has been smiling and gooing for about a month now, but it has always been while she has been so close to me that I couldn't get a picture. The other day I was able to capture it! The angle on the camera makes her look funny though, but here is "The Smile"! with a little tongue poking out.

Here is a little video of us trying to get her to smile. She was giving great big smiles and gooing until I got the camera out then she was so preoccupied with the camera, she wouldn't do it anymore!

Special Visitor

We had such a fun opportunity for McKinlee to come and visit while her mom went to state FFA and her dad was super busy! She finally got her wish - "I want to go visit Aunt Kristi in 'H'Idaho." So we are going to post some of the highlights of her visit. When I would ask her if she wanted to call her mom or dad, she would say "No, I don't want to go home!" All the boys were so happy that she got to come, but most excited was Monte, to have someone to play with all day long!
Can you tell who loves their "baby sister" Joni Ann? Every chance that she had, she would hold her and hug her and love her, insisting the whole time that it was HER baby sister.
I had a great idea that we were going to paint a barnyard scene on the cement wall of the playroom downstairs, so here are my two helpers! During the week, we got started on the project.

It rained on the first day that she got to our house and one or two days after that too. The day after she got there, her and Monte decided to go out on the front porch and feel the rain!

Every day at lunch, she would grace us with her favorite rendition of Gorgey Porgey.

When it was time to go, she was o.k. about going back home and she even said this . . .

We sure had a fun week! Thanks for coming to visit Kinlee! You will have to come again! Thanks Joseph and Cari for letting her come.

Springtime!

How do you turn Easter Sunday into Easter Funday? . . . Bring the whole family together (minus one - we missed you Larry,Linda and Lily!), mix in a little breezy, chilly, muddy outdoor weather and you get . . .

GREAT FAMILY PICTURES!
This is plan B for the day. When it was too cold and windy to go outside, we decided to try and get some family pix in the house. Despite the lighting and space issues we accomplished the impossible. Who said a great battle couldn't be won in one and a half hours!

What a candid circus!

This is what you call a geriatric doggy pile!

This must be the last shot of the day. Babies passed out everywhere and cheesy grins!
Who says this isn't a very handsome and lovely family! :0)
Monte says "She's a beauty!"

Priceless

Rocking Chair - $100
Cozy Blanket - $8
Daddy to snuggle with - Priceless!

Apparently Justin still has the touch to keep the crying baby sleeping - even when he is preoccupied on the phone. She does like her dad some of the time :-)
Another priceless is the opportunity to get to see and be held by grandpa great! We went and visited grandma and grandpa great a couple of weekends ago when we went back to Mtn. View for the baby shower. And look even he has the touch to keep her sleeping.
Maybe she is just a sleeping baby? She has started staying awake and alert for longer periods of time and if you talk to her and look at her, you will even manage to get some smiles and conversation. We have yet to get a picture of her smiling, because she generally smiles for me and how do you get a picture while you are holding her close and talking to her? We will keep trying and post it when we do get the picture.
